Tracey Peterson, DVM, DACVIM

Dr. Tracey Peterson pursued her undergraduate studies at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Industry. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine in Manhattan, Kansas. Continuing her academic journey, Dr. Peterson completed a one-year rotating internship in internal medicine, surgery, and critical care at Colorado Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado. Upon returning to Manhattan, Kansas, she undertook a three-year internal medicine residency program at what is now the Kansas State Veterinary Health Center, culminating in her certification as a board-certified veterinary internal medicine specialist. With diverse interests, Dr. Peterson specializes in managing hormonal imbalances, organ dysfunction—including kidney, liver, and small intestinal issues—and autoimmune diseases. She values the complexities involved in diagnosing and treating intricate illnesses. She comprehends the profound significance of the bond between humans and animals and recognizes its deep impact on our overall well-being. As a veterinary internist, her aim is to diagnose diseases and offer treatment options that nurture and sustain this unique relationship. Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Peterson’s home is filled with the lively presence of numerous smushed-faced pups, which keeps her occupied during leisure time. She also tends to a koi pond and tropical fish and cares for two rescued toads and a tree frog. In addition to her love for animals, she enjoys reading, hiking, and various outdoor pursuits.
